We Are MAASAI Children

WE LOVE SCHOOLPlease Keep Us Learning!

OUR MISSION

Eretore Pre and Primary School protects Maasai heritage and culture while understanding that an educated Maasai population provides the best chance for survival in today’s world. While we serve boys and girls, we are especially committed to the education of female students and address period poverty, female genital mutilation, and child marriage. Eretore Pre and Primary School is a collaborative presence in the community and requires that able stakeholders participate in the sustainability of the school.

“EDUCATION IS THE MOST POWERFUL WEAPON WHICH YOU CAN USE TO CHANGE THE WORLD.”

Nelson Mandela

Education in Tanzania is provided via government schooling which may include up to 100 students per class – or a religious school, which requires indigenous children to abandon their culture for an education. Eretore Pre and Primary School receives no government funding and provides free education to the children of Maasai widows and other struggling families.

WAYS TO HELP

SPONSOR A CHILD

Partner with us for only $38/month or $456 a year. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and your donations are tax deductible. Your sponsorship provides a professional and accredited education; nutritious meals; a safe and nurturing environment to learn and play; the opportunity to attend school near their village, thereby maintaining strong ties with the Maasai community; and staff awareness of issues specific to Maasai girls.

BUY THEIR CRAFTS & WARES
Perfect for Gift Giving!

Maasai jewelry and bowls are hand-made by the women of Eretore’s community! Maasai jewelry is beautiful and unique. It’s often copied and appropriated on fashion runways and in magazines, with no profits going to the Maasai. When you purchase through this site, you not only support the school but also empower the women artisans who create these handcrafted items to maintain ties to traditional artistries.

ONE-TIME DONATION

Not sure what to get that person who has everything? Consider a one-time donation! When you select a one-time donation as a gift for someone, we will send them a card, designed by a student, letting them know that you purchased the item in their honor!
